Is that your wiener in my schnitzel?

So, you think you hate your job? You may want to trade work-hour war stories with comedian Brad Zimmerman.
The would-be actor-turned-waiter-turned-comedian apparently has a notebook full of bitterness honed from his 32 years of waiting tables in Manhattan.
“Somewhere between 15 and 18 years ago, the job lost its freshness for me,” he quips in one of his comedy bits. “Now it’s one of those things I do. I don’t place a premium on being the best. I go to work essentially to leave.”
Ouch.
And there’s plenty more where that came from. Zimmerman hates the clientele and isn’t afraid to say so.

As part of a line-up of comedians performing this weekend as part of the “All Points Borscht 2: Electric Kugeloo” concert, Zimmerman will bring his unique brand of “take this job and shove it” humor to Jersey City. The concert, which will by headlined by brothers Todd and Adam Stone, is a benefit for Temple BethEl and will take place Saturday, June 18 at 8 p.m. at the Lounge at BethEl, located 2419 Kennedy Blvd, Jersey City.
Audiences may know the Stones, who perform as Stone and Stone, for their work on the NBC show “Last Comic Standing,” or from their work locally last year.
“Stone and Stone performed as part of All Points Borscht last year. They weren’t the headliners, but they were so good and got such a great response that we decided to bring them back this year to headline,” said event coordinator Matt Shapiro.
While the show is heavy on comedy, Shapiro said the event offers other fun entertainment, too.
“We have these guys, the Fabulous Plotkins, who play Klezmer music interspersed with Beatles covers,” said Shapiro. “They’re really amazing.”
Other musical acts will perform throughout the event as well, and – since it’s taking place in a lounge – audiences can expect an eclectic set of nightclub acts.
But make no mistake, the show – Shapiro noted – is primarily a comedy event.
There will also be several warm-up acts who will do short 5-minute sets before Zimmerman and Stone and Stone take the stage. These acts will include Sheldon Margolis and Jenny May – both up and coming comedians – and Hillary Schwartz.
And, if there were any questions about the type of event it’s going to be, Shapiro points out that “Jersey City pariah Phil Rivo will be the host.”
A realtor by profession, Shapiro called Rivo a “a publicity whore who’s a legitimately funny person. He’s got no filter. He offends people multiple times a day.”
Rivo, who some may also know as a comedian in the local area, also appeared on the HGTV show “Battle on the Block,” which taped an episode in Jersey City.

And it’s not just for Jews!

And for those who are wondering, yes, your Goyim friends can come, too!
“Keep in mind,” while this is taking place in the basement of a synagogue, and most of the performers are Jewish, it’s not a show that non-Jews won’t understand,” he said. “If anything, the show was a little too racy for some of the older people in the audience.”
Last year’s show, Shapiro noted, attracted a diverse crowd of more than 300 audience members.
So, in other words, bring your Catholic college buddy, but leave grandma at home.
Oh, and don’t bring your boss – especially if you plan to laugh at Zimmerman’s jokes.
