Jersey City police looking for sexual attacker of two women

JERSEY CITY AND BEYOND — The county prosecutor’s office is looking for someone who sexually assaulted a woman near McGinley Square in Jersey City and may have committed an earlier assault.
NJ.com quoted Hudson County Prosecutor Edward DeFazio as saying that a 25-year-old woman was sexually assaulted and robbed at 1:30 a.m. on Sunday, May 22 along Fairmount Avenue near McGinley Square.
DeFazio is also quoted as saying, “He grabbed her in a choke hold as she was entering her building….During the course of the attack, which went on for a period of time, a neighbor came upon the scene and the suspect was apparently scared off.”
The description of the attacker mirrors the description of a suspect who allegedly sexually assaulted a 34-year-old woman on March 23. The search continues for the attacker.
Anyone with information on the crime is asked to call the Prosecutor’s Office’s Special Victims Unit at (201) 915-1234 or Jersey City Police Department at (201) 547-JAIL.
