BAYONNE — The bad news about the $128 million 2010-2011 municipal budget passed by the Bayonne City Council on May 24 is that taxes will rise by 1.9 percent over last year.
The good news for taxpayers faced with paying their last quarter bill is that the increase was reflected in the February tax bill, so the May bill will actually go down by $5 on a home assessed at $133,000.
Overall, this budget presents an increase of $160 per average house over last year’s budget.
