Hope Center Arts features Patrick Andy Band

The Patrick Andy band will perform a concert at Hope Center Arts, at 110 Cambridge Ave., Jersey City, on Friday May 20 at 10 p.m. Bassist Patrick Andy and friends have been playing at every venue possible promoting his debut album, “Joy,” an independent release with major label type production now available on iTunes.
Bass Musician Magazine in its May issue says that “the supporting musicians and vocalists are very tight and the end product is very solid.”
All the band members have extensive touring and recording experience with many prominent pop and jazz artists, but are dedicated to this particular aggregation for musical, personal and spiritual reasons. They are all fiercely committed to their craft, are great friends and have a strong faith in Jesus Christ. But make no mistake, this is not your typical “church band.”
Guitarist Eli Menezes has worked with the likes of Lauren Hill, Richard Bona and Fred Hammond, just to name a few. Vibes player Bryan Carrott has toured extensively with Branford Marsalis, Edde “Cleanhead” Vinson. Trumpet player Thomas Barber has worked with Wynton Marsalis, and Paul Simon. Patrick himself has worked with many artists including Leni Stern, Lionel Loueke and Andrae Crouch. He is also the primary bassist at Times Square Church located in midtown Manhattan.
The Hope Center is a faith based institution that provides instruction in the arts to the underserved in the New Jersey and the tri-state area.
The Patrick Andy band appearance will be part of their Cafe Late Night series starting at 10 p.m. Doors open at 9 p.m. There will be a $7 cover, and food will be available for purchase inside.
