To the Editor:
In this most beautiful and holy season of Passover and Easter, I must tell of a wonderful faith community right here in Saint Andrew’s Parish. When a well loved parishioner passed away suddenly during Holy Week, I witnessed an amazing expression of love and compassion. Many people immediately rallied in numerous ways to the side of the grief stricken family. Our parish family held them, cried with them, prepared food for them, and eased their hearts with long lasting support.
Normally, hurried schedules would limit expressions of heartfelt sorrow, but not this time. There was a true sense of community. A community that could share a deep faith and mourn for the loss of a person who lived a life close to God.
It is an honor and a blessing that I am part of this parish. At a time when people complain about how society does not care about each other, I felt I wanted to let everyone in Bayonne know that a beautiful faith community exists right here.
