Cake Boss to get a new neighbor; what do you want to see on Washington Street?

HOBOKEN – Will the Cake Boss see competition from a new neighbor?
The corner of Newark and Washington streets in Hoboken, dubbed “the hottest corner in Hoboken” by one real estate firm, will soon be filled by a food establishment. Until recently, it was a real estate office. It is a few doors down from Carlo’s Bakery and often had to contend with viewers of the popular reality show “Cake Boss” asking to use their bathroom while standing on line for the bakery.
But 89 Washington St. was just leased again, this time by BFZ, LLC, according to a press release from Robert De Ruggiero Inc. Realtors. The property is approximately 600 square feet.
Robert De Ruggiero, the president of the real estate company, said in a brief phone interview on Monday afternoon that the new owner already owns many different businesses in the food industry, but it’s not clear what is emerging at 89 Washington St.’
Yet.
