A mass of Christian burial was celebrated May 10 at Holy Rosary Church, Jersey City, for Eleonora Liguori, 95, formerly of Jersey City. She passed away May 6 at her residence, with her family by her side. Born in Jersey City to the late Michael Colasurdo and Barbara Marchitto, she was a lifelong resident of Jersey City. She was a graduate of No. 5 School and Dickinson High School in Jersey City. She, along with her late husband Joseph, was the proprietor of Joe’s Prime Meats of Jersey City for 57 years, retiring in 1973. A devout member of Holy Rosary Church, she was a member of the Maria SS. Dell’Assunta Society and enjoyed attending the feast of Our Lady of the Assumption and Mass. She was also a member of the Montgomery Gateway Association of Jersey City. She is predeceased by her husband Joseph Liguori and son Ernest ‘Ernie’ Liguori, and siblings, Philip Colasurdo, Emanuela ‘Mollie’ Fusciello Marie ‘Babe’ Colasurdo. She is the mother of Barbara Liguori and JoAnn Wund and her husband John; grandmother of Lauren Squires, Charles Wund and Shalee Hugo; and great-grandmother of Christopher Depat and Aidan Hugo.
