HUDSON COUNTY – The 200 Club of Hudson County presented Hudson County Sheriff Frank Schillari with a Special Recognition Valor Award in connection with the gunpoint apprehension of a fugitive wanted for murder, armed robbery and sexual assault in September of 2010.
The honor was given at an awards luncheon ceremony held April 27, as were honors for many local law enforcement officials.
“Every day, tremendous acts of bravery are performed by the officers I have the privilege to lead at the Sheriff’s Office,” stated Sheriff Schillari, a Secaucus resident. “I am honored and humbled to be recognized by such a great organization that does so much for the Law Enforcement community.”
The Valor Awards are an opportunity to recognize the men and women who go the extra mile while serving their communities through Law Enforcement, Fire or Emergency Medical Services.
In addition to the Valor Awards, several Hudson County students received scholarships and Michael Novak, a Hoboken resident and president of the city’s local Chamber of Commerce, was elected to be president of the 200 Club.
