Dear Editor:
I am writing to express my support for the candidacy of Jennifer Giattino in the 6th Ward City Council election on May 10. I have known Jen for several years as a neighbor, fellow involved community member, parent, and friend. Jen is the person you call when you want to make sure something gets done, and gets done right. She has an ability to get along with anybody, and to get people to work together while having a good time. She is not a typical politician – I was actually surprised when I heard she was running for office. She doesn’t play games, she is honest, and she treats people with respect. These are traits I think are badly needed in Hoboken politics. Jen will make sure that when something is broken, it gets fixed. She’ll ensure that our parks are improved and expanded, and that our streets are clean. She’ll bring her practical and conscientious approach to our city’s budgeting, helping lower and stabilize our taxes while stopping the irresponsible one-shot deals of the past. She is the kind of person who can help bring our city where it needs to be.
