‘Taste of India’ scheduled for NB Library

The North Bergen Free Public Library has scheduled the cultural awareness event “A Taste of India” for April 30 at 2 p.m.
The free event will feature Menhendi hand-painting, food, literature, music, and dance.

Concert to raise funds for NB school

Franklin School Choral Director Dr. Armine Irving will perform in a Ridgefield concert, from which all proceeds will go back to her school’s music program.
The show, scheduled for May 6 at 7 p.m., will be held at Sts. Vartanantz Armenian Church Hall, located on Martling Place in Ridgefield, N.J. Tickets are $20 per person, with children under 10-years-old free.
Irving, along with Rebecca Hare, will sing classical, operatic, and Broadway songs to pianist Victoria Hernandez.
Franklin School’s faculty has donated “trick or tray” baskets to the event, which will be for sale.

Park Players seeking actors

The Park Players, a Hudson and Bergen County theatre troupe, are seeking several roles for their upcoming “And There was Nun,” a campy Hollywood murder mystery. The show will be performed on July 22, 24, 29, and 30.
They are currently casting roles for Alfred Hitchcock, Vivien Leigh, Joan Crawford, Gloria Swanson, Katherine Hepburn, and Talullah Bankhead.

Donates late author’s books

Earlier this month, Commander of the J. George Fredman Post 76 David Kronick, presented Jamie Stuiso, the recreation director of Sunrise Assisted Living in Edgewater, with 13 books written by the late author Daniel Kurzman, a former Post 76 member.
“A few members attended last year’s Veterans Day service at sunrise and since Dan had written a number of books dealing with WWII and world affairs, I knew they would be appreciated by both veterans and all the residents,” he said.

‘Zoo that visits you’ is coming

The New Jersey Meadowlands Commission is scheduled to host “The zoo that visits you,” a visit from Bucks County Zookeeper “Jungle Joe,” who will show the cool and unusual traits of 15 animals on April 30 at 1 p.m. at the Meadowlands Environment Center in Lyndhurst, N.J. Tickets are $5 per person and $4 per Meadowlands Environment Center member.

Bayonne acting school opened to all

Registration for David Neustein of Neustein Entertainment’s spring acting class will begin on Saturday, April 30 from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m.
Classes will take place at St. Henry’s Church School, located at West 28th Street and Avenue C in Bayonne.
The cost is $100 for current students and 4125 for new students. Those attending do not need to be Bayonne residents.
