Schoolkids embark on journey to beautify City Hall grounds

HOBOKEN – Looking for the green? Check behind City Hall.
Angela Dunckley’s Kindergarten class of Elysian Charter School got their hands dirty early Monday afternoon when they planted a garden with the help of Mayor Dawn Zimmer on the back lawn area of City Hall. The planting of the garden was stop one of the green activities for the mayor on Monday, as she later went on to a tree planting ceremony at Connors School.
Zimmer was joined by a group of approximately 15 students planting tulips, rosemary, and other greens.
The city is reaching out to all schools, and offering them opportunities to plant gardens behind City Hall in an effort to beautify the area.Check out the photos. — Ray Smith
