HUDSON COUNTY — Commuters travelling through Weehawken, consider yourself warned – next week will bring more construction to the area of North Marginal Street, a connector roadway running parallel to the Route 495 westbound elevated highway leading from the Lincoln Tunnel.
Beginning on Monday, April 18, two traffic lanes will be closed, shifting all traffic into one lane, according to Weehawken Public Safety Director Jeff Welz. The roadway between Boulevard East and Pleasant Street is being repaved. The roadway will be closed daily until Friday between the hours of 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. and all three lanes will reopen at 4 p.m. in time for the evening rush hour.
Although it isn’t a full closure of the roadway, Welz advised that the construction may cause delays and motorists should avoid the area during those times if possible.
