A funeral mass was offered March 25 at The Church of Our Lady of Czestochowa, Harrison, for Jan Selewoniuk, 87. He died March 14 at Hospice of Palm Beach, West Palm Beach, Fla. Born in Poland, he was a resident of Port St. Lucie for 9 years, moving from Secaucus. Prior to retirement, Mr. Selewoniuk worked for General Motors in Linden for over 33 years. He was an active member of St. Bernadette Catholic Church of Port St. Lucie, Fla., and former member of Our Lady of St. Czestochowa Catholic Church in Harrison. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, 4th Degree, Polish American Army Veterans Post 51, and Polish American Club of Port St. Lucie, Fla. Jan was preceded in death by his wife, Blanche Selewoniuk and a son, Joseph Lazarski. Survivors include three daughters, Stephanie Cassidy of Port St. Lucie, Fla., Sonia Gaucher of Boynton Beach, Fla., Joanna Hassler of Port St. Lucie, Fla.; one son Walter Lazarski of Port St. Lucie, Fla; nine grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. Services arranged by the Mack Memorial Home, Secaucus.
