Dear Editor:
On Saturday, March 5, 2011, the City of Hoboken had it’s annual Saint Patrick’s Day Parade. The parade has been a long standing tradition in Hoboken that celebrates both the Irish Heritage and the community as a whole.
I would like to take the opportunity to thank each and every member of this department for their performance during the entire day. The level of professionalism, the pro-active approach to potential quality of life problems and the quick and expedient enforcement were evident. In addition, each member displayed the care and concern by providing swift and necessary assistance to the numerous calls of service.
This year, the parade attracted thousands of visitors and residents of the community that took part in the celebration of this day. This presented a significant challenge to the Police Department and public safety in general. Amidst the numerous calls for service and the wide array of quality of life issues presented, I commend the members of service on a job well done.
Although planning for an event of this magnitude is never an easy task, each individual took great pride and commitment to ensure it was carried out. I want to commend all of the members of service for demonstrating the drive and stamina needed to carry out the planning phase of this event.
I would also like to offer special thanks to the following agencies that assisted us on this event: Hudson County Prosecutors Office, Stevens Police Department, Hudson County Rapid Deployment Team (RDF), Hudson County Sheriffs Department, New Jersey Transit Police, Port Authority Police Department, Hoboken Office of Emergency Management, Hoboken Traffic & Signal Division and the Hoboken Fire Department. Once again, It is with great pride to thank you all for a coordinated effort and on a job well done.
Sincerely,
Anthony P. Falco Sr.
Chief of Police
Hoboken Police Department
