Dear Editor:
Economic growth is important to North Bergen, but it’s not the only measure of its well-being. Another is open space, which has become more scarce and more important in our congested, high-pressure lives. We are now on the brink of spring. Emotions are uplifted by hearing birdsongs, smelling fresh earth, and seeing sailboats in the water. Therefore, we must oppose the building of more apartment towers on the last tract of North Bergen riverfront land at the intersection of Bulls Ferry Road and River Road. The land earmarked for the Riverview project should be preserved as a park. Some things have value that don’t have price tags.
