Student charged with assault on cop

A 16-year-old high school girl was charged with aggravated assault, resisting arrest, and disorderly conduct resulting from an incident that occurred at about 4:31 p.m. on March 7 at Bayonne High School.
The girl, according to a police spokesperson, allegedly assaulted a police officer and a school security guard.
A 15-year-old Bayonne boy was charged with obstruction when he allegedly tried to interfere with the arrest.

Bicycle theft arrest

Police arrested an 18-year-old man and a 16-year-old boy on March 7 for receiving stolen property in connection with the alleged theft of two bicycles valued at $519.99 from RG’s Bicycle Shop at 890 Broadway near 42nd Street.
Charged were Brenly Tolentino, 18, of Bayonne, and a 16-year-old boy, also of Bayonne.

Thefts and burglaries

A police spokesperson said about $1,350 was reported stolen from a private residence near Fifth Street. The burglary apparently occurred some time between March 6 to the 8, police said.
Also, a theft from a business near 26th Street and Avenue C was reported on March 7 at about 4:33 p.m. The police said a total value for the theft was not disclosed in the police report.
In another case, a police spokesperson said a burglary and theft from an industrial site located at 229 E. 22nd Street occurred at some point between Feb. 22 and March 9.
Two local businesses reported receiving bad checks on March 8. A Broadway insurance company said it had received a bad check for $359, while a West Fifth Street business reported receiving a bad check for $1,000.
