Funeral mass was offered March 10 at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church for Joseph R. Chambers, Sr., 69. He passed away March 6 at his home, peacefully, with his family at his side. Joseph was born in Jersey City and was a lifelong resident. He was a veteran of the US Army National Guard serving during the Vietnam era. Joseph was a statistician for Moore-McCormack Steam Ship Co. in New York, retiring in 2005. He was predeceased by his wife, the late Patricia Chambers and his parents, Charlotte and John Chambers. Joseph was the father of Joseph Chambers and Patricia Chambers; brother of Irene Stelzle and her husband George; grandfather of Patricia Chambers; and uncle of Jay Stelzle.
