PISCATAWAY — Dallas Anglin, who began his high school career at St. Peter’s Prep, came back to haunt his former teammates, hitting a huge 3-pointer in overtime and leading Seton Hall Prep to a 55-47 victory over St. Peter’s Prep in the NJSIAA Non-Public A North championship game Wednesday night at the Rutgers Athletic Center.
Anglin, a junior guard who spent a year and a half at St. Peter’s before transferring to Seton Hall last year, scored 17 points, but none bigger than a 3-pointer to open the overtime session, giving the Pirates a 41-38 lead that they held for the rest of the game.
Seton Hall made 14 of 17 free throws in overtime to put the game away. Sterling Gibbs paced Seton Hall Prep with 23 points, including making 15-of-21 free throws.
Stephon Whyatt, who was the key player a year ago when St. Peter’s defeated Seton Hall for the same state sectional title at Rutgers, paced the Marauders (23-6) with 21 points. Tre Bell had 11 and Keith Lumpkin 10 for the Marauders.
