JERSEY CITY AND BEYOND — St. Peter’s College beat Iona 62-57 on Monday to win the MAAC championship. The win netted the team its first NCAA berth in 16 years. Jeron Belin’s 17 points helped the fourth-seeded Peacocks beat the second-seeded Iona. On Sunday the Peacocks upset the top-seeded Fairfield 62-48. St. Peter’s coach John Dunne told The Olympian, “These guys knew exactly what we needed to do to win.”
They will now go to the NCAA championships.
