Funeral mass was held Feb. 18 at St. Nicholas Church, Jersey City, for Joanne Whateley, 64. She passed away at Compassionate Care Hospice at the Atrium at Hamilton Park, Jersey City, on Feb. 15. A lifelong Jersey City resident, Joanne was a homemaker to her family. She was a former member of the Chart 77 Group and a longtime communicant of St. Nicholas Church Jersey City. She is survived by her husband of 38 years, Bruce C. Whateley, Ret. JCPD; her children, David and his wife Marissa and Lara Whateley; siblings, James Carl Graves, Gertrude Marrale, Debra and Peter DeOteris and the late Frederick Marrale. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews and a host of family and friends too numerous to mention. Services arranged by the McLaughlin Funeral Home, Jersey City.
