‘Friends of Gary’ fundraiser to take place March 4 at the Weehawken Elks

On Friday, March 4, the “Friends of Gary” will host a fundraiser to raise money to help Weehawken resident Gary Landi with his fight against cancer. The fundraiser will be held at the Weehawken Elks, 2 50th St., from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m.
The cost of the ticket is $20, which includes food, soda and live music by Finish This.
Tickets can be purchased at The Oak Deli, 100 Oak St., at St. Lawrence Church, 22 Hackensack Ave., or by email at garylandi1976@gmail.com.

Representatives of college classes for adults to visit Weehawken Library

Adults thinking about going back to school to change career or learn new skills are invited to visit the Weehawken Library on Tuesday, Feb. 22 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Representatives from Felician College will be on hand to discuss the opportunities available for those considering returning to school for their degrees.
For example, the college offers special associate and bachelor degrees designed around the schedules of both adult learners and military personnel. These feature such amenities as shortened Fast Track Semesters, and more.

Pilates class seeks more participants

The Pilates class at Weehawken’s Nutrition Center is looking for more residents to join. The free class is led by certified Pilates instructor Aaron Daubert every Tuesday evening from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. All you have to bring is yourself, a mat, and a little motivation. Non-profit Dining for Women announces next potluck dinner

Weehawken’s chapter of the non-profit organization Dining for Women will be holding its next potluck dinner on Sunday, Feb. 27 at 2 p.m. So bring your potluck dish to share, your donation (any amount-check or credit card preferred), and friends and family members.

NJMC to host ‘I Love an Oboe!’ program

Join oboist Ellen Katz Willner with her trio of piano and violin in a program of familiar classical compositions that showcase the beauty of this instrument, hosted by the New Jersey Meadowlands Commission on Sunday, Feb. 27 at 1 p.m. The concert includes refreshments.
Adults and children over 10 only. Pre-registration is required.
Payment is $5 per person and $3 for members.
The event will take place at the Meadowlands Environment Center, 2 DeKorte Park Plaza, Lyndhurst.
