Dear Editor:
The Secaucus Department of Social Services, on behalf of Mayor Gonnelli and the Town Council, would like to thank the all those who so generously donated to Social Services and the Secaucus Emergency Food Pantry for Christmas so we could help our neediest families: G. Gallo and Secaucus Unico for their generous monetary donations; Kiwanis Club for the turkeys, snacks and money, and Storage Mart for the boxes.
We would like to acknowledge our appreciation for the abundant outpouring of gifts: Shirley; F. Scardino; R. Cabany; McKeever family; Vision Media; Olive Garden; PSE&G; Rotary Club; Delta Galil USA; Brownie Troop 2251 for the winter hats and gloves; the parishioners of Immaculate Conception Church; the teachers at Clarendon and Huber Street Schools; the students and faculty at Secaucus Middle and High Schools, especially the National Honor Society, American Technology Honor Society and the Builders Club for serving lunch to the seniors and their wonderful singing at the Senior Center Holiday Party.
A very special thank you to the Secaucus PBA for their donation of toys and helping “Santa” to deliver the gifts; to Bonefish for supplying the delicious Christmas dinners and Kings Kitchen for putting everything together and delivering to our senior shut-ins.
The staff of the Social Services Department and Senior Center deserve a round of applause for their hard work and help during this hectic time of year; Maryann Formisano, Linda Potente, Chuck Gasser, Jenn Bator and Lisa Snedeker. I would not have been able to get everything completed without your assistance.
Once again, Secaucus residents and civic organizations have demonstrated extraordinary charity and caring for the disadvantaged families in our community. We are most grateful for your support and wish everyone a Happy and Healthy New Year.
