Funeral mass was held Feb. 5 at Star of the Sea Church for Alessandro F. Putrino, 59. He died Jan. 31 at home. He was a teacher for the Union City Board of Education, and was Head of Guidance at Emerson High School, Union City, for 35 years, retiring in 2008. Mr. Putrino was a graduate of St. Peter’s College in Jersey City. He was a parishioner of Christ the King Parish at Star of the Sea Church, Long Branch. Born in Union City, he moved to Long Branch in 1986. He is survived by his wife of 25 years, Olga Acosta Putrino; his mother, Antoinette Putrino of Eatontown; a brother and sister-in-law, Joseph and Irene Putrino of North Bergen; and his nieces and nephews, Sandra Putrino, Christina and Michael Cintron, Joseph and Silvia Putrino.
