A funeral service was conducted Jan. 22 at the Trinity Lutheran Church, Jersey City, for Paul Orlando Lewis. He passed away Jan. 15 at Palisades General Hospital in North Bergen. He was born to the late Joel Lewis and Delores Jordan in Jersey City. “Fats,” as he was affectionately known by family and friends, was raised in Jersey City and received his education at P.S. 15 and Henry Snyder High School in his hometown. He was also a graduate of Job Corps in Edison, where he received his certification as a brick layer. Paul became a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in the early 1970s and worked alongside Pastor Martin with younger children in the church’s summer program. Surviving to cherish Paul’s memory are three brothers, Yusel Id-Deen (Bridget), Anthony Lewis and Kevin Lewis (Brenda); three sisters, Denita (Richard), Jerrilyn (Lamar) and Andrea Lewis (Eddie); grandmother, Veleria Jordan; two uncles, Michael Jordan and Joe Willie Royal; three aunts, Veleria Jordan, Evangelist Ida Wilson and Lee Ethel Royal; family friend Harry Thompson; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
