A funeral mass was held Jan. 24 at St Agnes RC Church, Atlantic Highlands, for Lucy Canova 75. She passed away Jan. 20 after a brave battle with ovarian cancer. She was born in Manhattan during the Great Depression to Rose and Rocco Dattolico into a family of nine children. She moved to Union City in the 1950s after marrying Joseph Canova, who predeceased her in 2009. She was an active member of St. Michaels Parish and the Union City community. In 1989, she helped found with her son, Dr. Joseph Canova, Hoboken Chiropractic, now Hoboken Integrated Healthcare. She worked 20 years as office manager and director of patient services. She was an active part of the Hoboken business community until her passing. In her senior years she was an avid amateur artist. She is survived by her daughter Cynthia Marrrone of Atlantic Highlands and son Joseph Canova of Long Valley; four grandchildren, Nicholas, Julia, Olivia and Joey.
