A mass of Christian burial took place Jan. 8 at St. Michael’s R.C. Church for John R. O’Neill. He passed away Jan. 4 after a brief illness. Born in Jersey City, John was a lifelong resident. He was a U.S. Army veteran and a member of Teamsters Local 560 of Union City. John was a truck driver for Eastern Freightways in Kearny for 20 years, and a part time dockworker with the ILA. Pre-deceased by his wife Evelyn M. (nee O’ Keefe), he is survived by his children Evelyn Parker, Francis, Maureen, Jacqueline and John O’ Neill, as well as grandchildren Evelyn, Jennifer, Jamie, Tara and Kaley Parker, John Reid, James and Brian O’ Neill and great-grandchildren Makayla Secor, Jaylen Secor, Brayden Secor, Emily Reid, Kimora Edwards and Kiyawna Edwards.
