A mass of Christian burial took place Jan. 7 at St. Michael’s Church at for Bernadette M. Morrissey, 78. She passed away Jan. 4 at Christ Hospital. Bernadette was a lifelong resident of Jersey City. She was an assistant vice president for First Jersey Bank and its successors. Bernadette enjoyed traveling, music and the arts and was a lover of animals. She was very to Saint Jude, regularly attending the Saint Jude Novena at St. Michaels’s Church in Jersey City. Bernadette was the mother of William Edward Morrissey of Jersey City and Ellen Morrissey of Pennsville, N.J.; sister of William McKernan and the late Mary Fekete and Margaret Dalton; grandmother of Katelyn and Erin Morrissey. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews as well as her two furry four legged grandchildren. Services arranged by the McLaughlin Funeral Home, Jersey City.
