A memorial mass was held Jan. 10 at St. Francis RC Church, Hoboken, for Elvera Matthews. She died peacefully Nov. 28. Elvera was born in New York City, the daughter of the late Melina and Miguel Russo, and lived most of her life in Jersey City. She was a secretary for Garibaldi Real Estate in Hoboken. She was a member of the Hoboken Civic Theatre, many senior citizen organizations in Jersey City, and was also a member of All Arts Matter, Catskill, N.Y. She is survived by her niece Barbara Auerbach and her husband Paul; nephew Franklin Jensen and his wife Marianne; and lifetime friend Marian Roland.
