Funeral services were held Jan. 12 for Beatrice Kaplan, 87. She passed away Jan. 7 peacefully at home in Rockville, Md., surrounded by her family. Bea was born and lived most of her life in Jersey City. She was the wife of the late Clinton Kaplan; mother of Craig (Anne Hess) and Paul (Peggy); grandmother to Dana, Clifford, Leona Hess and Sam Wiehoff; and sister-in-law of Myrna Kaplan Palley and Sheldon Palley. Bea was a lifelong member and leader of Hadassah and a member of Temple BethEl of Jersey City, where she served as treasurer and financial officer for many years. She enjoyed traveling, volunteering for Meals on Wheels, raising funds for her causes and spending time with her many, many friends and family members. Bea will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. Services arranged by Gutterman Bros., Bayonne.
