A funeral mass was held Dec. 31 at the Church of St. Mary, Rutherford, for Lillian Powers, 78. She died peacefully Dec. 28 surrounded by her family. She was born in Jersey City to Walter and Elizabeth Cullen. Lillian was the wife of Thomas “Danny” Powers and mother of Daniel and his wife Judith, Eileen and her husband James and Patricia and her husband Douglas; sister to four siblings, Irene Bell and the late Elizabeth, Cathy and Walter. She was the grandmother of Reisetta, Katelyn, Amy, Meghan and Andrew. Lillian was a well-loved member of the American Legion Post 109 and a parishioner at the Church of St. Mary Parish. Lillian worked for the National Council Insurance Company for 10 years and retired in 1985. Services arranged by the Collins – Calhoun Funeral Home, Rutherford.
