HOBOKEN — Something fishy is going on in the Hoboken construction office.
Sources at City Hall at the City Council meeting last night have said the locks were changed on the construction office this week.
Councilman Michael Russo said at the Jan. 5 council meeting that he was concerned about the treatment of an employee, without saying the official’s name. But Corporation Counsel Mark Tabakin disagreed with the assertion that the employee was treated wrongly, and felt administrative action was the appropriate action. He also advised Russo to end the conversation on the issue because of legal concerns.
City spokesperson Juan Melli said the city would not comment on personnel matters, but on Thursday morning said the construction office is open. – Ray Smith
