Jersey City residents: Need your streets plowed? Officials are listening

JERSEY CITY — For those city residents who want their streets plowed of snow ASAP, city officials are heeding your call.
City Councilman Ray Velazquez has reached out to the public through his Facebook page fielding complaints he has received about streets still filled with snow. He said Tuesday that while he understands people’s frustration, he also thinks city workers have been doing the best job possible to clear the streets.
“Under the circumstances, the city has done everything to deal with a tremendous amount of snow,” Velazquez said.
In the meantime, city officials met at City Hall this afternoon to coordinate further snow removal. Removal is being done by crews of Jersey City Incinerator Authority workers and those from the city’s Department of Public Works.
Velazquez said complaints about uncleaned streets can be made to the Mayor’s Office at (201) 547-5200 or they can e-mail Velazquez at rayvelazquezjr@gmail.com – Ricardo Kaulessar
