108 to be laid off at Secaucus distribution center

SECAUCUS AND BEYOND — NorthJersey.com reports that a Syms distribution center in Secaucus plans to lay off 108 of its 123 workers by the end of January.
They note: “Off-price retailer Syms Corp. plans to lay off 108 people and dramatically reduce the flow of goods through its Secaucus distribution center, according to state documents and a union official. The company has told the New Jersey Department of Labor and Workforce Development that the layoffs set to take place Jan. 30 will include three managers along with drivers, packers, loaders, and clerks. About 15 people will remain at the center, and the company will instead supply its stores almost entirely through another distribution center in Boston.”
