JERSEY CITY AND BEYOND — A Jersey City school has confirmed that it suffers from bedbugs and can’t exterminate until the winter break.
The Associated Press reported on Sunday: “The Jersey City Board of Education says officials are trying to confine the critters to the third floor of School 23 on Romaine Avenue. Until school lets out for the holidays, they will disinfecting areas on a spot basis. Parent George Wendt says his 13-year-old son spotted the bloodsucking bugs in his classroom a couple of weeks ago and told the principal right away. His son has since been moved to another classroom.”
As reported in the Reporter two months ago, three schools already have dealt with the problem.
The report came two weeks after the Bayonne schools confirmed that a student came to school with bedbugs on his backpack (see links below).
No word on whether still other Jersey City schools may have this problem, or whether Wendt is related to the actor who portrayed “Norm.”
