SECAUCUS AND BEYOND – The American Idol franchise is coming to Secaucus next summer.
High School Teen Idol, a nationwide singing competition for high school students that’s similar in format to the popular American Idol contest, will hold its 2011 finals at the Arthur F. Couch Performing Arts Center in Secaucus next June.
The three day event, to be held June 25 through 27, will feature 80 semi-finalists from around the country who will compete for the title of High School Teen Idol. In addition to the competition itself, contestants will also be given voice training and other workshops to hone their singing skills.
Secaucus was selected among several cities and towns that were considered for the weekend competition. Several contestants – as many as 15 – will be selected from Secaucus High School, a courtesy organizers of the competition extend to every host city.
