PELLAGATTI, AGOSTINO

A mass of Christian burial took place Nov. 24 at Holy Rosary Church for Agostino “Muzzy” Pellagatti, 80. He passed away Nov. 21 at home. Born in Jersey City to the late Frank and Angelina Pellagatti, he was a proud life-long resident of Jersey City. Muzzy was a retired warehouseman for National Cold Storage for many years, however his occupational specialty was being a political campaign expert, and to those that knew him, know how well that always went. Muzzy was an avid Yankees and Giants fan, he enjoyed playing cards and sports betting. He could almost always be seen sitting on his front stoop talking with the neighborhood guys. He is certainly one unforgettable fixture of downtown Jersey City. He was predeceased by his parents and sons, Mark and Gerard “Jerry” Pellagatti. Surviving are his wife Nettie (Scocco) and his children: Angela Cassella and her husband Tom, Frances, Anthony and Chester Pellagatti and Anne Marie Dancy and her husband Dave. He was the grandfather of David Dancy and Steven and Jason Cassella, and brother of Pricilla Ciandella, Yolanda Miceli and Joseph Pellagatti. Services arranged by the Introcaso-Angelo Funeral Home, Jersey City.
