A funeral service took place Nov. 14 at Temple Beth-El, Jersey City, for Evelyn Shugar Brauer of Jersey City. She passed away Nov. 6. Predeceased by her husband, Charles K. Brauer, MD, she is survived by her children Richard and Mary Brauer of Greenwich, Conn., and Joyce and Jon Weston, of Chatham; grandchildren Samantha, Alexander, Philip, and Charlotte, sister Marguerite Brill, brother Gerald Shugar, and her companion, the Honorable Sam Eisenberg. A graduate of UNC at Chapel Hill, she was a practicing pharmacist until recent years. Her life, dedicated to family, learning, culture and community, was an inspiration to family and friends.
