Stop the ‘heliport invasion’

Dear Editor:
A developer in Kearny is plotting to open a heliport that would put choppers flying 250 feet over the heads of Jersey City residents, skimming the tops of schools, hospitals, and other buildings. A year ago, a plane and helicopter crashed over the Hudson River, and now they want to fly just 250 feet above Jersey City homes! This has the potential to be a helicopter invasion with 150 daily take offs and an equal number of landings, each one inflicting more chaos and confusion in the most congested metropolitan area in the world! Approvals were given to build the heliport based on misleading information about the capacity, use, and flight paths for aircraft using the facility. Your life, and the lives of people you love, should not be threatened based on a pack of lies! Please encourage elected officials to stop the helicopter invasion. Visit www.cjdlc.net for more details about the problem and to learn how you can help.
