Man severs fingers in work accident

NORTH BERGEN – According to Commander of the Detective Bureau Lt. Frank Cannella, a 26-year-old North Bergen resident accidently cut four fingertips off while working on Nov. 10.
Cannella said that the man, who was working at 3200 Liberty Ave., which houses several businesses, was cutting a piece of wood on a table saw when the wood “kicked back,” but the forward pressure of his hand caused four of tips of his fingers down to the first knuckle to be severed.
His coworker transported him to Meadowlands Hospital, where North Bergen Police were called. As of right now, police are not sure if the man has undergone surgery. – Tricia Tirella
