A funeral mass was celebrated Oct. 30 at St. Joseph of the Palisades Church for Rosario Joseph Passante, 87, formerly of West New York. He passed away Oct. 27. He was a WWII Navy veteran, serving on a battleship. He worked as a guidance counselor in Anna L. Klein School in Guttenberg, was the past president of the Guttenberg Teachers Association, worked with juveniles for the Board of Education for the city of New York, and also wrote articles in the Hub Herald. He was the husband of the late Margaret (McNally); the father of Janet Passante and the late Nicholas Passante; the grandfather of Jonathan and wife Iwonna; and the great-grandfather of Anastasia Victoria.
