Dear Editor:
In the frenzy of a critical election that will determine the future of 4th Ward and the city at large, it is easy to focus on the candidate and overlook the person.
Mike Lenz is many things: a committed public employee in charge of 15 county buildings, a CPA, a certified municipal finance officer, and a dedicated 4th Ward Councilman. But Mike Lenz is also a devoted family man.
If you’ve had the pleasure of spending time with Mike and his wonderful family, as we have, you will know that Mike Lenz is a loving father and husband in a happy boisterous home.
Happily married to Laura Keating since 1990, Mike and Laura have three sons: Tim, Ben, and Jonny. Tim attends school at St. Peter’s Prep, Ben is a student at High Tech High School, and Jonny is a second grader at Hoboken Charter School. Mike has supported his sons in Boy Scouts, Cub Scouts, and coached soccer locally. Mike and Laura chose to make the 4th Ward their home in 1997, buying a multi-family home on Monroe Street.
Raising three energetic sons while renovating a multi-family home, Mike understands the importance of safe streets, the need for more open space, a proper 4th Ward park, a flooding solution, and lower taxes.
Mike understands the juggling act parents face, balancing careers and family; he faces the same challenges everyday. Mike is dedicated to the 4th Ward and the City of Hoboken because it’s his family’s home. On Nov. 2 vote for Mike Lenz — he’s working to create a better community for his children and all of us, too.
