BAYONNE — The lights went out on Broadway and elsewhere for about 40 minutes beginning Tuesday morning at about 7:30 a.m., city officials said.
Problems with a transformer blacked out residents on streets from the low 40s to about 25th Street, said City Business Administrator Steve Gallo.
“We were told that it was due to a transformer,” said Gallo. “Public Service had it repaired within about 40 minutes. No one was without power for more than 40 minutes.”
Although Bayonne Medical Center is located in the affected area, the hospital has back up power sources in case of an emergency, officials said.
