A mass was celebrated at Whigman Funeral Home for Marcus Lance Lawson of Jersey City. He died Aug. 20. He was employed as a baggage handler for Continental Airlines for 18 years and as a clerk for United States Postal Service for 32 years. He was a member of the Viola S. Richardson Civic Association. He was the son of the late Alberta and Marcus Lawson; the husband of Barbara Ann Richardson-Lawson; the father of Leigh-Ann Chloe’; the brother of Joyce Lawson Ellis (Jerome), Rory (Dominique), Kevin (Helene), and Dean (Keisha) Lawson; the son-in-law of Sarah and Edward Richardson; and the brother-in-law of Sarah Ball (Fletcher), Sharon Walker, Lenora Obayne (Emmanuel), Willie (Viola), Ronald, Herbert (Carol), and Valerie Richardson. He is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends. Services arranged by Whigman Funeral Home of Newark.
