A funeral mass was celebrated Aug. 28 at the Evangelical Gospel Temple, Bayonne, for Mae Eliza Bowman Thompson. She served in several ministries in the Jersey City area: Heavenly temple C.O.G.I.C., Clair Memorial United Methodist Church, and Monumental Baptist Church, where she served as a member of the Senior Usher Board and the Mountain Movers prayer group for a number of years. Eliza worked for several companies: Central Laundry; Greenville Hospital; Efka Plastics; Visiting Homemaker of Hudson County; Isotoner; and at private day cares as an aide. She was the wife of Rev. Daniel Thompson, Sr.; the mother of Lorraine, Sylvia Ann, Priscilla, Jennifer Olivia, and Daniel, Jr.; the grandmother of Anthony Thompson and Ivona Charlene Thompson; the niece of Johnny Middleton; the sister of Mary Hall, Rosalee Green, Nathan and Henry Bowman, Willie (Edward) Middleton, and Matthew Bowman; the sister-in law of Margaret Middleton, Carrie, Wihelmina, and Janice Bowman, and Betty Jo Thompson, Pastor Richard Green and Isaiah Thompson (SC); the mother- in-law of Bishop Thomas Robinson and Deacon Derek A, Jones; and the cousin of Mattie Davis- Greene, Nancy Mae Jackson, and Ernestine.
