On Aug. 17, over 600 children and their families came out the Weehawken Waterfront Park Complex for the recreation department’s annual End of Summer Fun Night event to conclude the summer season.
Kids enjoyed traditional games like potato sack races and tug-of-war as well as a new 75 foot inflatable obstacle course.
Recreation volunteers and teens from Weehawken High School Peer Leadership came out to help with face-painting and temporary tattoos.
And the fun got messy with old-fashioned watermelon and pie eating contests.
Over 1,000 prizes were given out to children for participating and competing in various activities throughout the evening.
