Dear Editor:
On Friday the 30th of July around 1:00 I put my pocketbook in the trunk with my bank cards, triple AAA cards and medications, took my house keys instead of my car keys, and locked the doors. A police car was passing by and the officers asked me if I needed help, which, of course, I did. I explained my situation, and they proceeded to unlock my doors and get into my trunk to retrieve my keys for me.
I am a lifelong resident of Hoboken. I am also a handicapped senior citizen. The two officers that helped me were Officers Kevin Cooney and Pat McNamara. They were both extremely courteous and helpful. I was very proud of the Hoboken police department and their members for the exceptional concern and care they showed to me.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank them for their service, and would like to commend the Hoboken police department for another job well done.
Sincere thanks,
Joan Markey
