HOBOKEN AND WEEHAKWEN — The city of Hoboken’s ballyhooed solution to where it should move its temporary garage operations is not as clear-cut as some thought. As noted last week, a small business owner says he already has a lease for the private property uptown that Hoboken and Weehawken planned to rent for $15,000 a month so they can move public works equipment and vehicles there.
And as of today (Monday), the city was expected to be in Hudson County Superior Court in the afternoon to answer the business-owner’s complaint.
The owner of Hoboken Unleashed, a doggie-care facility, has said he already was planning to move some operations there, and holds a long-term lease for that property.
The matter was first brought to light at last Wednesday’s council meeting by resident Perry Belfiore (see links below to our prior reporting).
