To the Editor:
Mayor Smith & City Council of Bayonne:
I am a lifelong resident of Bayonne. This is in regards to the City Council meeting on July 28 on the feral cats. Kathleen Henderson is a great person with compassion for the cats. TNR really does work. I have cats in my yard, they are my babies. I feed them, give them fresh water and have a litter box for them and they appreciate every thing we do for them. When they are sick I get them medicine. I am here for them all the way. I will protect them from any harm.
The lady who spoke about diseases and fleas does not seem to be an animal friendly person. I’ve seen cats dig holes and bury their feces. I disagree with everything she said at the meeting.
I am an animal lover. I will continue to take care of my colony of cats and stand by the Hendersons all the way. When my cats come to eat and one or two don’t come, I worry. But they finally show up and I am happy.
Believe me, there are people out there that target my cats by sending their dog after them or shooting sling shots with rocks, etc. I think it is wrong and I will protect my colony at all times. The cats keep away the rats, possums, and raccoons, which Bayonne has a big problem with.
Please consider TNR. Do not kill our little angles. I will continue to feed them and protect them.
