HOBOKEN — A source said this morning that an announcement was expected early this week about a decision by the city of Hoboken as to where it will put its new parking garage, in anticipation of selling the land on which the old one sits to a developer this August. One source said that a joint press release will be issued with another town that will participate, but this could not be confirmed by press time.
Residents in various Hoboken neighborhoods have said they don’t want the new garage in their part of town. The city has already made public a plan to close off a part of Clinton Street near 15th Street in anticipation of a possible plan to move garage operations (such as car repair and equipment storage) there.
