Funeral mass was offered July 20 at St. Anns R.C. Church in Hoboken for Andrew Avitabile, 94, a lifelong Hoboken resident. He died July 17 at his home. An Army Veteran of World War II, Andrew worked as a foreman for many years with Ducane Heating Company in Hoboken. He later was employed on a part time basis for several years with Cervelli Grocery, and after that worked as a crossing guard for the city of Hoboken. Andrew was predeceased by his wife Frances and a son, Michael Avitabile. Surviving are his daughter Raffaela Breyer; two brothers, Benjamin and Dominick; four sisters, Josephine Hodgkiss, Rita Cavallo, Ida Imbimbo, and Anna Muraca; two grandchildren, Kristen Creed and Erich Breyer; their spouses Wayne and Toni, and two great grandchildren, Sophie and William.
